My brother Paul got married.
If you didn’t already know, I come from the most amazing family! They really are the greatest people I know. I could say a thousand words, but I will just say that my brother Paul was the most dashing groom (and I can’t look at a picture of him without a big cheesy grin washing over me) and Mikaela (our new sister) you are the most gorgeous bride we’ve ever shot – honestly you looked freaking amazing. These images may or may not be the best images we’ve ever taken, but they are by far my favourites – for the simple fact that the people in them mean the world to me.
Paul and Mikaela – the thought of not capturing these moments on your wedding day, was the moment we knew we had too. I have no words to adequately express how much I love you. How much I need you. How much I want you. Together. In my life. For the first time I was able to see, truly, you both melt into each other. You are beautiful together. Thank you for allowing us to be so much a part of it. Mikaela – thank you for making my brother so happy. Paulie, I lovelovelove you, even on the days when I don’t show it.

In 2001 and 2003, bushfires devastated much of the pine plantations to the western end of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, the ACT Government decided to turn the land into one of the largest Arboretums ( a collection of living trees) in the world. It will be home to 104 forests of rare, endangered and symbolic trees from Australia and around the world. Newly created there were baby trees everywhere.. and a tiny new forest of Great Sequoias sits at the very opening to Arboretum. That day they were mere saplings of hope.. the trees are little descendants of the largest living trees in the world, in existence today there are specimens that are some 275 feet tall, with a 100 feet wide trunk and have been dated to be more than 3000 years old. They are in fact – the largest living organism, by volume, on the planet. Mind Blown.
May your marriage and family grow as large and as long as these magnificent trees.
