I don’t know where to start this blog post because it sits so closely to my heart I’m afraid I’m going to gush personal memories from childhood. She’s my second cousin or “sister” as we’ve called ourselves since as long as we can remember. He was introduced to her by my brother – they’ve been inseparable since.
When Carrie contacted me the evening after Simon had popped the question, I was beyond thrilled. Then she let me know that Simon actually had the ring in his pocket a few days earlier – the ENTIRE time we’d been taking these pictures of them together as a birthday present for miss Carrie. Whattt!!! 😛 I remember agreeing with Erin as we drove away from that session – those two are perfect for each other. I can’t wait till they get married!
Carrie has the kindest, biggest, sweetest soul and I wanted nothing but life to throw her an EPIC love story. She has always been the design student fashionista, Simon the techy gamer and they complement each other brilliantly. The day Carrie and Simon married at the National Library was always going to be insanely special. Guys – I underestimated you.
Their day was nothing short of perfection. In its details, it was gorgeous. In the 1920’s literacy theme – it was all glamour. In the fact that it was 9 degrees with a blaring wind chill factor by Lake Burley Griffin – that made it feel more like 4 degrees – it couldn’t have been more comforting. More warm. In two people commemorating their love – it was raw. It was beautiful. We were so honoured to be a part of it.
Beautiful Simon and Carrie – we are so happy for you both. You’re the best “kinda-sister” and “kinda-brother in law” I could ever ask for and I can’t wait to see the amazing future you both will share together. x
Much Love
